Steps for Spring:

Get Tidy

After a long and wet winter, offer your yard some TLC!  Remove dead plants that are in pots or around your home.  Pick up sticks or anything else in your yard that needs to be removed, corral toys and balls in a colorful basket or bin, and plan for your spring garden.  While you are at it, go ahead and weed and tidy your flower beds and mulch those areas, too!

Add Spring Color

Plant brightly colored flowers in pots and place near your front door.  If space allows, choose some flowering and colorful plants for your yard, around your mail box, or around your lamp post to brighten your space and provide a cheery welcome to your home!  Spring for a new doormat and a wreath or decor to adorn your front door!

Get Handy

Give attention to the exterior of your home that may need touching up — repaint or touch up high use areas (like front doors and storm doors), shutters, and any other exterior area that may need attention.  Clean off front porches and stoops and wipe down lamp-posts and mailboxes — give everything a good cleaning and wash away those winter cobwebs to allow spring to shine!

Bring Spring Inside

Trim blossoms to bring indoors and brighten up your inside space.  Take a few minutes in each room to pare down some of your items — less is more!  Gather items that you don’t need and donate them to someone who can use them.  Gather items in need of repair to fix, or replace them.  Dust off those ceiling fans, replace your light bulbs and get ready to throw open your windows to let warmer air welcome others into your space and home!
