Kelly Blanchard, REALTOR | 804.307.4499
Kelly Blanchard decided to pursue a career in real estate after surviving a deal that had way too many rough patches. Success came quickly. In a real estate market that has bruised many realtors, Kelly has established herself as a premier agent. “I felt as though there was a much better way to handle a real estate transaction, and it started with treating people better than we were treated; I knew that if I could do that, then I could be effective.”
I see the real estate market from the perspective of the buying and selling public, as I’ve been in both positions several times myself. I love that I use my Interior Design background on a daily basis, both in helping sellers stage and in helping buyers envision potential. I understand the need to give clients clear information and guidance, and I understand that it needs to be delivered with humility. I think my clients appreciate that.
As a long-standing Richmonder and resident of the Fan District, Kelly uses her business acumen (learned from the ground up at Blanchard’s Coffee) and her extensive social network in her day-to-day interactions with her clients and other realtors throughout the Metro area to add value to every transaction.
Kim Nix, REALTOR, Buyer’s Specialist | 804.223.2216
Kim’s approach to Richmond real estate is a little more personal than most. Warm and welcoming, thanks to her deep southern (Alabama) roots, she takes the time to listen to her clients–she understands that buying a home is not like any other purchase. It is where you live and one of the ultimate expressions of self.
So many factors affect the decision, and people approach it so many different ways. Some are very calculated and all about the numbers. For others, it is a very emotional experience. Most people fall somewhere in between, but my favorite part of this job is getting to know the people I work with and listening to what they want.
As a full time artist for many years, Kim sees some similarities in the process of creating a painting and buying a home. Her clients often reference her patience – both in helping them understand the entire process and in finding their perfect home. When transactions run into bumps in the road she calmly keeps everyone on an even keel and moving forward. In many ways, her paintings exude that same sense of calm.
They both require patience and true understanding during the different stages. I think it is the reason I am drawn to working with buyers.
While her home is in the City of Richmond, she is a versatile agent. She enjoys exploring all of Richmond and getting to know the many personalities and pockets that make up the Metro region. When she is not out showing houses (with clients) you can find her in her studio painting, out running on Monument Ave, or enjoying down time at home with her husband, 3 children and 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
